Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the SoundSleep iPhone app ("SoundSleep", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. SoundSleep is published by GoSwift Media. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. The short version

SoundSleep is built to be private by design. Your sleep audio is captured, analyzed, and stored entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device SoundAnalysis framework. Your recordings never leave your device — we operate no servers that receive your audio, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. No account is required to monitor your sleep.

2. What stays on your device

Everything the app creates while you use it is written to your iPhone's local, app-private storage and is not transmitted to us:

• Audio clips of detected sound events, saved as compressed AAC files on your device and bounded by a storage budget (oldest clips are deleted automatically).
• Sleep sessions and detected events (timestamps, durations, sound categories such as snoring or sleep talking, an on-device noise index, and your snore score) stored in a local database.
• Your settings, tags, notes, and achievement progress.

Because this data lives only on your device, we cannot access it, and deleting it (or the app) removes it permanently. See Retention & deletion.

3. Microphone

SoundSleep uses the microphone only while you are actively monitoring a sleep session, to detect and record sounds like snoring and sleep talking. Audio is processed in real time on your device. The app does not access the microphone at any other time. iOS will ask for your permission before the microphone is first used, and you can revoke it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

4. Purchases & subscriptions

Optional Pro features are sold as subscriptions and a one-time purchase through Apple's In-App Purchase. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage and validate purchases. When you start a purchase, restore purchases, or check your subscription status, RevenueCat processes a randomly generated app user ID (not tied to your name), your transaction and receipt information, and basic device and operating-system details to determine whether your Pro access is active.

Payment is handled by Apple — we never receive or store your credit-card or payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy. RevenueCat's handling is described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

5. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to enable it, SoundSleep can write your sleep sessions to Apple Health on your device. This is strictly opt-in; if you don't grant permission, nothing is written. Health data is stored and protected by Apple on your device — we do not receive it. We never use Health data for advertising or share it with third parties, and we only use it to provide the features you request.

6. Notifications

If you enable them, SoundSleep schedules local notifications (bedtime reminder, wake alarm, and a morning-report nudge) directly on your device. These are not push notifications and do not involve our servers or any third party.

7. No tracking or ads

SoundSleep contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles. The app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you.

8. Data retention & deletion

Your sessions and clips remain on your device until they are evicted by the storage budget or you remove them. You are always in control:

• Delete an individual session from your history at any time.
• Use Delete all data in the app's Settings to erase every session, event, and clip.
• Deleting the app removes all of its local data from your device.

9. Children

SoundSleep is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will address it.

10. Your rights

Because your personal sleep data is stored only on your device and we do not collect it, you can access or delete it directly within the app at any time. 11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and posting the revised policy at this URL.
